ABBAYE AUX DAMES ASSOCIATION

The Abbaye aux Dames is an association formed under the law of 1901 concerning assocations. The association is comprised of 19 employees and over 1050 members (October 2005). 

The aims of the assocation are to (from the statuts, title I, article 4) :

  • Express its musical project, and in particular its interpretation, and to integrate it into a national and international network,

  • Be a place for artistic performance international renowed. The association organizes and runs the Festival de Saintes.

  • Ensure the continued development of the Abbaye aux Dames.

  • Be a logistical support to current and future activities, and promote the development of skills.

  • Promote the Abbaye aux Dames as a conference center, and as host for training courses and artists residencies.

  • Be a center for continuing education classes.
