JEUNE ORCHESTRE ATLANTIQUE

Performing classical and romantic repertoire on period instruments is the speciality of the Abbaye aux Dames. The centre offers young musicians a programme of studies in professional proficiency. Organised under the educational leadership of Catherine Puig, these courses allow the exploration in depth of a vast repertoire as a member of a most unusual orchestra - the Jeune Orchestre Atlantique.

Courses

The musicians have the choice between two options:

courses "à la carte"
a complete cycle of courses: the "Advanced Studies Program in Orchestral Training"

The courses consist of working sessions of between five and fifteen days and include:

sectional work (wind, brass, percussion, romantic piano, and strings)
ensemble work (chamber music and symphony orchestra) under the direction of well-known conductors.

One or more public concerts form an integral part of each training course.
