Education team

The Orchestre des Champs Elysées (OCE) is the main partner of the JOA. The majority of the world-renowned instructors are members of this orchestra: Alessandro Moccia (first violin), Ageet Zweistra (principal cello), Axel Bouchaux (principal double bass), Jane Booth (principal clarinet), Marcel Ponseele (principal oboe and professor at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris), Mathias von Brenndorff (principal flute)


Other coaches are involved from time to time. They come from orchestras or ensembles specialized in playing on period instruments: Claude Maury (horn / La Petite Bande, Les Arts Floissants…), Marc Vallon (former principal bassoon of the OCE, professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA), Catherine Mackintosh (violin / Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment), Jeanne Lamon (violin / Tafelmusik), Brian Dean (violin / Freiburger Barokorchester), Alain Planès (piano), Ronald Brautigam (piano)...


During the training programme, students benefit from theoritical lectures about musical analysis, edition ... Among the invited lecturers : Pieter Bergé, professor in music analysis and performance, Sandrine Raffin, stringed-instrument maker - Atelier Raffin in Paris, John Irving, reader in Historical Musicology, Bristol University...
