Sollazzo ensemble

This programme, devised by the young musicians of the Sollazzo ensemble (Diapason d’Or for 2018 – award for an outstanding classical music recording) and featuring two masterpieces from the musical repertoire of the late Middle Ages, retraces mentions of the stars in the French and Italian Ars Nova. The lyrics of these madrigals and motets use a symbolism linked to the cosmos and the fascinating light of the stars, their inaccessible, ideal beauty making them the ideal symbols for pureness and the absolute.
