Young audiences

The Festival de Saintes unfolds at the heart of the abbey. It also occupies the paths that criss-cross its grounds, offering original musical discoveries to new audiences and initiates (conferences, discovery tasting, public rehearsals, singing classes, choir…). It is another way to approach musicians and/or make music.
Singing classes, workshops, meetings with our music blogger and the experience of their very first concert are just some of the different, customised ways that children can discover music during the festival.

Each summer, about a dozen youngsters aged 13 to 22 meet at the abbey for nine days.
Through direct radio shows, the production of video reports and news articles, these budding journalists are guided by professionals and meet the different actors of the festival. This is a unique opportunity to find out what it means to be a journalist and gain significant experience!
