EFNYO/ EU Creative Music Programme/ MusXchange

The European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO) includes most of the national youth orchestras in Europe that have the same professional training missions. The JOA has been a member of EFNYO between 2006 and 2020.

The aims of the federation are to enable information sharing between orchestras, organise joint projects, support the establishment of youth orchestras in the countries where there are none and encourage exchanges between musicians from different orchestras.

This partnership with EFNYO enabled musicians to play in orchestras in other countries, providing them with a unique opportunity to:

  • discover different music cultures,
  • meet young musicians from different countries,
  • learn or perfect a foreign language,
  • find out about training opportunities in other European countries.

Between 2015 and 2020, in the framework of the EU Creative Europe Programme, the JOA’s participation in EFNYO has enabled JOA musicians to take part in these exchanges under the 2015-2017 and 2018-2020 MusXchange programmes.

This project was financed with the support of the European Commission.
